Quality of Experience Drives Adoption of PeerApp Solutions

NEWTON, MA – September 15, 2014 – PeerApp, the market leader in fast and efficient Internet content delivery, announces that in the first half of 2014 the company has seen greater adoption of its solution by Tier One network operators globally, with 10 new Tier One or global group member customers during the period. This includes significant new deployments in Europe and Latin America. In total, the company has added more than 50 new customers since the start of the year, and is scaling the organization to support this growth.
PeerApp’s field-proven transparent caching solutions are now deployed at over 450 network operators and enterprises worldwide, with many deployments managing 100-500 Gigabit capacity.
Quality of Experience Drives Adoption among Tier One Operators
In working with hundreds of operators throughout the world, PeerApp has found that Quality of Experience (QoE) is not only core to brand loyalty, it also increases consumption, potentially driving revenues. Earlier this year, PeerApp closed a multi-million dollar deal with a Tier One cable operator to guarantee subscriber QoE. PeerApp’s UltraBand solution was selected due its ability to scale to very high capacities, and to be deployed at different locations within the network. That deployment, which is well underway and will be over 100 Gigabits when completed, is already showing improved QoE results.
Quality of Experience is also proving essential to operators rolling out Fiber to the home/building/etc. (FTTx) optical fiber delivery topologies to ensure the quality promise of high speed networks is really delivered to subscribers, with several operators selecting PeerApp solutions as a key element of their FTTx infrastructure build out, and in turn, gaining high ratings on the Netflix ISP Speed Index and customer satisfaction surveys.
PeerApp enables operators to serve popular content – of any type – from within their network. This approach speeds delivery 4-10 times, greatly improving subscriber Quality of Experience, while also lowering cost. The open nature of the solution puts the operator in control of delivery, enabling them to seize the content opportunity and is another reason for Tier One adoption.
New Organization to Support Demand
“Recognizing the need to scale our organization to support our wider customer base, we have broadened our executive team in key areas,” explained Gadi Tamari, CEO of PeerApp. Newly hired executives include Avi Tenenbaum to head all customer and market facing activities globally, with Mary Valentino responsible for the North American and Caribbean markets, and Alice Bartram leading all marketing activities. In addition,Shimon Nurick will be heading all product-related aspects of the company’s business.
Mr. Tamari, who became CEO in June after four years as Chairman of the Board, continued, “Our new organization is structured to help our customers seize the opportunity associated with growing subscriber demand for over-the-top video and data services. By putting the operator in control of delivery, we are transforming OTT Internet content from a problem into an opportunity for our customers. PeerApp’s experience and market leadership give our customers the confidence and proven solutions they need as they navigate industry challenges.”
